Find a style that feels like your pet

Compare five TailGift illustration styles by line, color and detail before choosing a pet portrait.

Start with the feature you want to remember

Look at your reference photo before picking a style. Is it a coat marking, an expression or a pose? The styles change how those details are drawn. The same photo can produce different interpretations; review the actual result rather than expecting a copy of the example.

Eastern Ink: expressive brushwork

The featured cat example uses soft ink-like edges and dark-and-light contrast. Choose this direction if you enjoy a painterly silhouette and expressive marks. Check that your pet’s distinctive patches remain recognizable in the generated result.

Color Realism: natural color and soft detail

The corgi example keeps warm coat colors and a detailed face with an illustrated finish. This is a useful starting point when familiar markings and expression matter most. It is still an illustration, not an exact photographic reproduction.

Chibi Color Cartoon: a playful interpretation

The schnauzer example uses a rounded character shape and small decorative details. Choose it for a playful portrait. Expect proportions and fine fur detail to be interpreted rather than reproduced literally.

American Retro: a scene with character

The featured dog illustration combines strong outlines, warm color and a narrative setting. It can suit a portrait with a story or role. Check the scene, pose and details before selecting a result.

Minimal Line: a light, simple drawing

The terrier example uses a restrained line drawing and open space. Choose it when you prefer a quieter portrait. Fine features can become subtle when reduced; inspect your product preview at the size you intend to use.
